McRuffy Press was founded by Brian Davis, the author of The Book of Matt chapter books, the McRuffy Phonic and Reading series, the McRuffy Math series, the McRuffy Science series and more. As a former elementary school teacher, he saw the need for dynamic materials that would pull children in and help them learn and master the fundamentals. From classroom phonics to math learning books, McRuffy Press educational products deliver the lessons children need in a manner that best suits their style.

The McRuffy Press line of learning products includes:

Grade specific materials – We offer an extensive line of products for traditional classrooms and home school programs. Our products currently target kindergarten through fourth-grade students. The product line includes such focus areas as classroom phonics, reading, math, science, spelling, handwriting and more.

Hands-on materials – From phonics activities to mathematics fast facts flip and draw books and beyond, we offer an extensive line of learning materials to reinforce lessons and really help youngsters gain a mastery over topics.

Supplemental – One of the most effective ways to get young learners to really absorb topics is to make lessons fun. Our supplemental materials are perfect for this. From puzzle packs to phonics activities, we have the extra tools home school programs and classrooms need to make certain students excel.

McRuffy books – These books were especially written by Davis for young readers. Many of the titles in the line feature Ruff McRuffy, a loveable little dog that helped ignite Brian Davis’ passion for developing learning products for children.

 The roots of McRuffy Press were planted in 1991 while Davis, who holds a master’s degree in reading instruction, was still teaching kindergarten. He began developing the Ruff McRuffy line of books to help his students learn. Davis found that his students were so successful in the endeavor, that he began sharing his approach with others. It wasn’t long before more materials and grade levels were added and McRuffy Press was officially launched to serve home school programs and classrooms.

Since its inception, McRuffy Press has become a leader in providing early learning materials for home school programs, public schools, private schools and more.
